Race to Dubai 2017

golferTommy Fleetwood held off Justin Rose in an exciting climax to the 2017 European Tour season to finish first in the Race to Dubai for the first time in his career. The Englishman, who was only just inside the world’s top 100 at the start of the year, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign where he enjoyed consistent success.

Fleetwood set the tone for his stunning year by winning the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship by a single stroke in January. He also won the Open de France, came fourth at the US Open and regularly found himself amongst the upper echelons of the leaderboard.

Justin Rose trailed in second, while Spanish youngster Jon Rahm surged up to third after winning the DP World Tour Championship. Rahm’s fellow Spaniard Sergio Garcia, who pipped Rose to Masters glory, finished fourth. Defending Race to Dubai champion Henrik Stenson could only come 15th, while three-time winner Rory McIlroy was 13th.
